Three Passes Trek

The Three Passes Trek is an epic adventure in the Everest region that takes you over three high mountain passes: Renjo La, Cho La, and Kongma La, each offering breathtaking views. You'll also visit iconic locations such as Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, and the vibrant Sherpa towns of Namche Bazaar and Tengboche, making this multi-faceted and awesome.

  • Accommodation: 16 nights in traditional Nepalese "teahouses" during the trek and 2 nights in a hotel in Kathmandu of minimum 3 stars rating.

Itinerary:

**⮚ Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu / Meet & Greet** 

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in the bustling Thamel district. Take some time to explore this vibrant area.

 

**⮚ Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2840 m) and Trek to Phakding (2610 m)** 

We take an early morning flight to Lukla, one of the most thrilling short flights in the world. From Lukla, we begin our trek to Phakding, following the Dudh Koshi River. 

- **Walking Distance:** 8 km 

- **Duration:** 3-4 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)** 

We continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. After a challenging ascent, we reach the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar.

- **Duration:** 5-6 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar** 

We spend a day acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar. Optional activities include a hike to the Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramas or exploring the Sherpa Culture Museum.

 

**⮚ Day 5: Trek to Thame (3800 m)** 

We leave Namche Bazaar and trek to the village of Thame, passing through beautiful rhododendron forests and enjoying views of the surrounding peaks.

- **Duration:** 4-5 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 6: Trek to Lungden (4380 m)** 

Today's trek takes us further into the high Himalayas, following the Bhote Koshi River to the village of Lungden.

- **Duration:** 4-5 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 7: Trek to Gokyo (4750 m) via Renjo La Pass (5360 m)** 

We start early to cross Renjo La Pass, the first of the three passes. The ascent is challenging but offers breathtaking views. We descend to Gokyo, where we can see the stunning Gokyo Lakes.

- **Duration:** 7-8 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 8: Acclimatization Day in Gokyo** 

We spend the day acclimatizing in Gokyo. Optional activities include a hike to Gokyo Ri (5360 m) for panoramic views of the Everest region or exploring the nearby lakes.

 

**⮚ Day 9: Trek to Thagnak (4700 m)** 

We trek across the Ngozumpa Glacier to reach Thagnak, a small settlement on the other side of the glacier.

- **Duration:** 3-4 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 10: Trek to Dzongla (4830 m) via Cho La Pass (5420 m)** 

We cross our second high pass, Cho La, which involves a steep and challenging ascent. The views from the pass are spectacular, and we descend carefully to Dzongla.

- **Duration:** 7-8 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 11: Trek to Lobuche (4940 m)** 

Today's trek is relatively easier as we make our way to Lobuche, following a trail with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. 

- **Walking Distance:** 7 km 

- **Duration:** 3-4 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 12: Trek to Gorak Shep (5170 m) and Visit Everest Base Camp (5364 m)** 

We trek to Gorak Shep, our final stop before Everest Base Camp. After a brief rest, we continue to Everest Base Camp, where we can enjoy stunning views of the Khumbu Icefall. We return to Gorak Shep for the night.

- **Duration:** 7-8 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 13: Hike to Kala Patthar (5545 m) and Trek to Lobuche (4940 m)** 

We wake up early for a sunrise hike to Kala Patthar, offering unparalleled views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. After descending, we trek back to Lobuche. 

- **Walking Distance:** 12 km 

- **Duration:** 6-7 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 14: Trek to Chukhung (4730 m) via Kongma La Pass (5535 m)** 

We cross the third and final high pass, Kongma La, which is a strenuous but rewarding climb. We descend to the village of Chukhung.

- **Duration:** 7-8 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 15: Trek to Tengboche (3860 m)** 

We descend through the Khumbu Valley to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, with magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and other peaks. 

- **Walking Distance:** 12 km 

- **Duration:** 5-6 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)** 

We continue our descent, passing through rhododendron and pine forests, to return to Namche Bazaar. 

- **Walking Distance:** 10 km 

- **Duration:** 4-5 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 17: Trek to Lukla (2840 m)** 

Our final day of trekking takes us back to Lukla, where we celebrate our journey and achievements.

- **Duration:** 6-7 hours 

 

**⮚ Day 18: Fly Back to Kathmandu** 

We take a morning flight back to Kathmandu, where you can relax and explore the city at your leisure. 

- **Flight Duration:** 35 minutes 

 

**⮚ Day 19: Departure** 

After breakfast, we'll transfer you to the airport for your departure, bidding you farewell until your next adventure in Nepal.
